I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I don’t feel quite ready for the day until I’ve applied a spritz of fragrance. I’m fascinated by the world of perfume and I love how confident the right scent makes me feel! I’ve generally always gone for quite spicy, oriental fragrances – almost masculine – and I tend to find the ones I like have the same notes. Today I wanted to share my absolute favourites.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for some time, but as I don’t have all five fragrances to hand at the moment I haven’t been able to photograph them together. Therefore I decided to try a slightly different visual aid!
I wish I could say I painted this beautiful watercolour myself, but art is not my forte – this was the work of my wonderfully talented mom. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Chanel Sycamore. I worked for Chanel a few years back and fell in love with so many of their fragrances, so it’s been hard picking a favourite. Nonetheless, the one I find reaching for the most is Sycamore from their Exclusifs range. Containing notes of cedar, vanilla, and vetiver, it’s a beautifully warm and earthy scent. I love the sleek, simple design of the bottle, too – there’s just something so luxurious and undeniably Chanel about it, isn’t there?! This is slightly more expensive than their standard range, but trust me, it’s worth it!
Escentric Molecules 01. This is my day to day perfume. I can’t smell it on myself any more but I always get compliments when I wear it. It contains the molecule ‘Iso E Super’ (a man made ingredient) which hovers close to the skin and is designed to ‘vanish and reappear.’ It mixes with the wearer’s natural pheromones so it smells slightly different on everyone. Next time you’re out shopping, stop and give this a spritz – I promise you’ll fall in love with it.
Diptyque Eau Duelle. Diptyque is one of my all-time favourite brands so it’s no surprise I have one of their gorgeous perfumes on my list. I was first introduced to Eau Duelle when I asked the SA what the fragrance equivalent to the Vanille candle would be. This scent is fairly sweet but woody and smoky at the same time – it almost reminds me of tobacco in a way. My go-to for a summer night out.
Liz Earle Botanical Essence No.15. I’d always loved Liz Earle’s skincare but I didn’t realise she sold perfume until I received one as a gift with purchase. I’ve since sampled her whole range but no.15 is my absolute favourite. A heavenly concoction of damask rose, sandalwood, pink pepper and bergamot, it’s a fresh yet slightly spicy scent. I’ve repurchased this several times and never grow tired of it – my boyfriend always tells me how nice I smell when I wear it! I love the box it comes in, too – it reminds me of an old apothecary bottle.
Jo Malone Poppy and Barley. This is fairly new fragrance from Jo Malone and I’ll admit when I first tried it I wasn’t a fan. Nonetheless, it soon grew on me and is now one of my go-to scents. With hints of rose, violet and blackcurrant, it’s a little sweeter and more floral than I’d usually go for, but I love it all the same. It’s the perfect perfume for spring/summer!
What are your favourite fragrances? x
I used to have the Escentric Molecules 01 fragrance years ago, I remember it being a favourite with lots of bloggers because it smells different on everyone. Jo Malone fragrances are next on my list, I’m looking at the English Pear and Freesia one.
