Long, fluttery lashes are something I’ve sadly not been blessed with. However, I’m not a huge fan of false lashes/extensions so I’m happy to make the most of what I’ve got! These past few months I’ve gotten into a steady routine with my lashes and thought I’d share it with you all today.
First things first, lets talk growth serums. I’ve never thought too much about using serums until a long-lashed friend at work recommended them. I didn’t want to invest in anything too pricey to begin with, so I ordered this one from Amazon to try. I’ve been applying it every night religiously (you have to be consistent!) and it wasn’t long before I noticed a huge difference. Within a few weeks my lashes looked noticeably longer and thicker – a friend even asked if I’d had them lifted. I’m still using this on a daily basis but have begun incorporating the Mavala Eye-Lite Treatment into my routine as well. I’ve read so many wonderful reviews on it so I’m looking forward to seeing results.
I find a good pair of curlers essential for beautiful-looking lashes. I use mine every day, even if I’m going makeup-free. My favourites are from Shu Uemura – I bought them back in 2014 and they’re still going strong. Unfortunately I don’t think they’re available in the UK anymore (I’ve found some on Amazon but I’m not sure if they’re legit!) but there are some fabulous offerings from other brands – the Chanel curlers are brilliant and I’ve heard Kevin Aucoin’s are amazing, too.
For mascara, I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes for a year or so and it’s amazing – it really does give that false lash effect. I like to take my time with mascara, starting at the roots and then wriggling through the lash for a fluttery, ‘fanned-out’ look. This one can get a little clumpy if you’re not careful so I like to use a spoolie to separate my lashes afterwards.
Other mascaras I love include the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes and the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I also like to use the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara on my lower lashes as it’s the only one I’ve found that doesn’t transfer onto my undereye.
And there we have it! My must-haves for long, healthy, natural-looking lashes. Do you have a lash routine? What are your go-to products? x
